We had a lovely meal, mussels, calamari, prawn cocktails, mains were duck, pasta, more mussels. The restaurant had cocktails which was lovely except no champagne cocktail, which seemed a strange refusal in a champagne bar. Nice sidecar, but …
Excellent location, friendly staff and good food, but our accommodation (Wallace room) was poor. No mention of the four flights of stairs (no lift); bathroom window very tatty and dirty; bathroom floor uneven and tiles cracked; basin tap …
I booked Sandy Feet cottage for myself, daughters and grandsons for a family holiday which is owned my Mount Stewart Hotel, Portpatrick. Prior to arrival I phoned on 3 occasions to the hotel to discuss various issues and was assured all …
I can only report on the restaurant, as we weren't able to stay at this hotel. A friend had recommended we visit the restaurant. We were happy to follow that advice. We booked as we had been told it might be busy. It was the best meal of our holiday. Staff both in restaurant and bar were very pleasant and helpful.
The room had a fabulous view. The food was tasty and the staff very friendly. On the down side our room has no heating. There were 2 plug in fires but they didn’t work and when we complained to a staff member twice on the 2nd time they came …
We visited the Belvedere Restaurant at this hotel and had a fantastic meal. The service was excellent and the quality of the food was just sublime. The white chocolate cheesecake deserves a special mention as it was the best cheesecake we have ever had. We would highly recommend having a meal here, if you are in Portpatrick
We stayed for 6 nights in September 2023. Our room (Wallace) had a lovely view, but was in poor condition - bathroom floor cracked, Velux window very tatty, no over-basin light, no shelves; window seat cushion stained, cracked bedside table top; access via 4 flights of stairs (not mentioned on website), no lift; our early bedding request not acted upon (13.5TOG duvet in summer was NOT what we requested!!) Food okay but erratic service - breakfast tea and toast arrived well before cooked food... In the circumstances £160 per night was excessive, and the management has failed to respond to either my letter or email.
We were very unimpressed and disappointed.
We attended with our children for our anniversary meal whilst on holiday in the area and I honestly couldn’t fault anything. The location is lovely, the decor and atmosphere is great, the service and staff were fantastic, the food was beautiful and really generous portions, the wine was great. Overall a very enjoyable evening and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.
